Kiteboarding Victoria Freestyle State Titles
I’ve competed twice now at the Kiteboarding Victoria State titles and I hold back to back wins for both contests. The level of competition is strong in VIC and the State titles has proved to be a great stepping stone and opportunity to further train and develop my competition riding. Its not easy but its on my home turf and its always good conditions.
This year however, with my baby boy Leo only 2 months old – my Kiteboarding training has not been top priority. Local boy and Professional Kiteboarder Ewan Jaspan put up a fantastic display and took the win this year, which he deserves after all the hard training. Despite coming first looser (2nd) I was overly happy with my performance and I even squeezed in a backside 315 (Blind Judge 5) into my finals competition heat.
Its on next year and I’m hungry for the win! (This place did give me entry to the Nationals GRAND FINAL, on the Gold Coast, however with Leo being so young I was unable to attend.)
